Quantitative, sensitive and reliable 1D Gel and Western Blot Analyses

Up to now quantitative, sensitive and reliable 1D gel and Western blot analyses are
difficult to perform. This is partly due to the limitations of protein stains (e.g. limited
sensitivity, low dynamic range, poor reproducibility, no direct control of transferred
protein from the gel to the membrane).
Furthermore, signal normalization of target protein to house-keeping protein relies on
constant protein expression of house-keeping proteins. Since different conditions
(e.g. stress, treatments, age) often lead to changes in protein expression even for
house-keeping proteins, this approach may not be suitable.
The Smart Protein Layers (SPL) technology overcome these issues and introduce
multiple additional benefits.
